About Me

Aisha Al-Qimlass, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist who has been working in the mental health field since 2008. She holds a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University and a Doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. She specializes in navigating identity development – whether it is a young adult transitioning into “full” adulthood, an Arab or Muslim individual who is trying to integrate cultural dynamics, or a person exploring their relationship with drugs and/or alcohol.

Aisha works primarily with adults and college-aged students who are tired of trying to figure it all out on their own. She uses a blend of therapeutic styles to meet her clients where they are; believing in a holistic approach to mental wellness and focuses on supporting the whole person, including relationships and family dynamics. Aisha’s professional goals in the therapy room are to empower her clients to be the experts of their lives by helping them to determine their own goals, and working with them to create a life that is safe, happy, and healthy.

While helping clients process overwhelming emotions and discuss difficult topics, Aisha brings humor and acceptance to all of her client relationships. Her philosophy is that growth and learning is moving target without any end-date, which requires grace, kindness, and levity.

On her time off, Aisha likes to spend time with friends and family. (Really though, she likes to curl up on her bed or couch and binge-watch whatever show currently has her attention or reading a good book). While currently residing in Hawaii, she can be found at the beach (surfing, looking for shells, or just taking in the view), at a thrift store, or at Costco.

Aisha currently works with individuals, aged 18 years and older.

OUR MISSIONWHAT WE STAND FOR

We are guided by principles of awareness, compassion and change in our clinical and community-based work. We seek to bring awareness to issues such as racial trauma, interpersonal violence, LGBTQ+ affirmative care and women’s health concerns. We offer accessible services and extensive training through our counseling internship program. And we partner with community groups engaged in activism with and for marginalized groups.
