About Me

Hannah Groover (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate working as a psychotherapist. Hannah received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Meredith College and a Master of Social Work degree from North Carolina State University. Hannah believes that all individuals are the expert in their own story and seeks to uplift individuals she works with to achieve their goals and reach the wellness they desire.

Professionally, Hannah has worked with individuals experiencing eating disorders, substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and various other concerns to process experiences and collaboratively work towards fulfillment and wellbeing. Hannah believes in the ability for all individuals, regardless of their current circumstances, to overcome their challenges and find peace and joy.

Hannah uses an eclectic approach in therapy applying background from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed practice modalities, and others to tailor interventions for the individual seeking services. Each client is unique and Hannah’s approach respects those individual differences to maximize effectiveness of therapy for each person she sees.

Hannah also provides Natural Flow EMDR, which is a modification of traditional EMDR therapy. Natural Flow EMDR is more flexible with the aim of leveraging the body’s natural processing abilities (i.e. somatic awareness & real-time body sensations) to facilitate trauma healing in a more intuitive and personalized way, whereas standard EMDR takes a more structured approach to reprocessing specific traumatic memories.

Hannah is currently particularly interested in working with clients who are adolescents through adults experiencing the following: substance use disorders, eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, life stress and transitions, and traumatic experiences.

Hannah currently works with individuals aged 14 years and older.

OUR MISSIONWHAT WE STAND FOR

We are guided by principles of awareness, compassion and change in our clinical and community-based work. We seek to bring awareness to issues such as racial trauma, interpersonal violence, LGBTQ+ affirmative care and women’s health concerns. We offer accessible services and extensive training through our counseling internship program. And we partner with community groups engaged in activism with and for marginalized groups.
