About Me

Joe (He/Him) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a background in early childhood education. He specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families on challenges including anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, relationship difficulties, obsessive behavior, intrusive thoughts and healthy communication.

Joe will help you identify the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical coping skills to deal with daily challenges. He prioritizes creating a therapeutic space rooted in safety, empathy, accountability, and growth. Joe believes that listening and understanding are two distinct clinical skills and works intentionally to ensure you feel both heard and deeply understood.

In his work with children, Joe takes a strengths-based approach built from years of teaching and clinical training. He believes that even the most challenging behaviors often stem from skill deficits rather than defiance. Joe often helps families reframe what appears to be a “will gap” as a “skill gap,” focusing on strengthening emotional regulation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Working with adults and college age students, Joe’s approach is collaborative, structured, and compassionate, creating a space where clients can process complex emotions, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, and develop skills that promote greater clarity, balance, and confidence in their daily lives. This environment helps clients better understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Joe currently works with individuals aged 8 years and older.

OUR MISSIONWHAT WE STAND FOR

We are guided by principles of awareness, compassion and change in our clinical and community-based work. We seek to bring awareness to issues such as racial trauma, interpersonal violence, LGBTQ+ affirmative care and women’s health concerns. We offer accessible services and extensive training through our counseling internship program. And we partner with community groups engaged in activism with and for marginalized groups.
