About Me

Kelsey McKaplan is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Holistic Sex Therapist, and yoga teacher who helps adults feel more connected to themselves, their relationships, and their bodies. She works with people of all genders navigating their sexuality and sexual functioning, relationship to food and body, anxiety, burnout, relationships, identity exploration, life transitions, and the general overwhelm of being human.

Kelsey’s style is warm, honest, collaborative, and down-to-earth. She believes therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or overly clinical to be meaningful — sometimes healing looks like deeper insight and understanding, sometimes it looks like learning boundaries or coping skills, and sometimes it looks like finally being able to take a deep breath. She brings humor, curiosity, and compassion into the room while also helping you challenge patterns that may no longer be serving you.

Kelsey draws from psychodynamic therapy, parts work, ACT, DBT, attachment theory, queer theory, and somatic practices, always tailoring therapy to your unique needs and experiences. Her work is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, weight-neutral, sex and kink-positive with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and fully yourself.

Kelsey is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a brief, evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help people process trauma, anxiety, and depression in just 1 to 5 sessions. It works by using guided eye movements to help the brain reconsolidate distressing memories. Clients do not need to verbally share their trauma details with the therapist to experience relief.

When she’s not working, Kelsey is probably spending time outside, dancing, watching Jeopardy, talking about pop culture, cooking something ambitious she found in a cookbook, or hanging out with her spouse and two dogs. She deeply values connection, humor, embodiment, rest, and the small rituals that help people feel more like themselves.

Kelsey currently works with individuals aged 18 years and older.

OUR MISSIONWHAT WE STAND FOR

We are guided by principles of awareness, compassion and change in our clinical and community-based work. We seek to bring awareness to issues such as racial trauma, interpersonal violence, LGBTQ+ affirmative care and women’s health concerns. We offer accessible services and extensive training through our counseling internship program. And we partner with community groups engaged in activism with and for marginalized groups.
