About Me

Michelle (she/her/hers) is a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She specializes in working with girls and women from adolescence to menopause. She carries an additional certification for perinatal mental health and mood disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Michelle has over 25 years of experience as a nurse and has been a nurse practitioner since 2012. She has a background in public health and enjoys working with a diverse patient population.

There are three times in a woman’s life when they are more likely to develop a mood disorder: adolescence, pregnancy and postpartum, and menopause. These are times when our hormones are changing and shifting. Michelle specializes in women’s mood disorders surrounding hormonal changes such as pregnancy and postpartum, menstruation and menopause, and female sexual dysfunction.

  • Many women are under the impression that there is nothing they can take for their mood while they are pregnant, but many medications have a lot of safety data for pregnancy. If you are taking a medication and are planning pregnancy, Michelle can provide a one time preconception planning visit to discuss your medications and the impact they may have on your pregnancy and growing fetus.
  • Think you’re just PMSing?? If it is impacting you significantly, there are treatments that can help!
  • Many women suffer from sexual dysfunction after having a baby, or as they get closer to menopause. We can sometimes be ashamed to bring up these issues to our providers. If this is something that is impacting you, let’s talk about it!

OUR MISSIONWHAT WE STAND FOR

We are guided by principles of awareness, compassion and change in our clinical and community-based work. We seek to bring awareness to issues such as racial trauma, interpersonal violence, LGBTQ+ affirmative care and women’s health concerns. We offer accessible services and extensive training through our counseling internship program. And we partner with community groups engaged in activism with and for marginalized groups.
