Sara Crow (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who has been working in the field since 2014. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from NC State University and two bachelor’s degrees from UNC Greensboro. After a previous professional life working in hospitality and international education, Sara spent the first few years of her counseling career working in university and community mental health settings with Spanish-speaking children/families, teenagers, and college students. Since 2018 Sara has practiced in outpatient therapy.
Sara believes the most important aspects of counseling is the fit of the therapeutic relationship and safety of the therapy space. For meaningful change and support to occur you must feel heard, respected, and empowered. Sara is a trauma therapist who works with both bottom-up and top-down approaches to nervous system healing. She utilizes techniques from Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR (SAFE EMDR), SAFE EMDR for Chronic Pain, Brainspotting, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Presently Sara focuses her work around pregnant and postpartum persons, their families, and life transitions into and throughout parenthood. She also works with persons needing support around stress and life transitions, anxiety, mood changes, identity, relationships, body image, self-esteem, awareness, and finding balance. She works closely with and is an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, is culturally sensitive, and takes a humble approach to therapy.
A lifelong learner, Sara always looks for ways to grow and implement new things in therapy practice and her personal life. Born and raised in Alaska, Sara has lived throughout North Carolina and Mexico, and now calls Raleigh home. In her off time Sara enjoys nature walks, exploring restaurants and coffee shops, traveling, watching TV shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Sara currently works with individuals aged 25 years and older both in person and via telehealth.

We are guided by principles of awareness, compassion and change in our clinical and community-based work. We seek to bring awareness to issues such as racial trauma, interpersonal violence, LGBTQ+ affirmative care and women’s health concerns. We offer accessible services and extensive training through our counseling internship program. And we partner with community groups engaged in activism with and for marginalized groups.
