Tanya is a board-certified, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 23 years of nursing experience. She started her nursing career as a Surgical Trauma ICU Nurse working with seriously ill patients and their families as they navigated through traumatic medical experiences. Through those years as an ICU nurse, Tanya developed a strong devotion to providing care that looks beyond the condition to recognize the individual as a whole. She believes every person has a unique story that requires a unique treatment approach. Since her time as an ICU nurse, she has continued to work with individuals to help them navigate through life’s challenges to find a direction that works for their individual needs.
Her mission as a PMHNP is to help patients process their individual mental health needs, manage symptoms, and build a life they feel is worth living. She believes that to treat mental health conditions and to reach an optimal state of wellbeing, one should care for the physical body, mind and soul. She advocates for optimizing brain health not just through medications, but with nutrition, movement, supplements, talk therapy, and utilizing multidisciplinary referrals to ensure holistic care. By using a multimodal approach, her priority is to help you achieve a balanced state of wellbeing and improved quality of life.
Tanya maintains a comprehensive focus on care, including brief psychotherapy and prescribing mental health medications for adults coping with ADHD, depressive disorders, PTSD, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and OCD. She has a strong focus on the individual mental health needs of women and the unique challenges they face throughout their lives. With her years of nursing experience and knowledge, she provides dedicated, compassionate, and evidenced-based care.
